Containing layers too sensitive

Hi is there a way to set the sensitivity of the containing layers. I try to move a graphic and every time it opens up in the containing layer. It's annoying and slowing me down as it takes several attempts before I can actually move the graphic without opening a containment layer.

I'm using the latest cc2017

Not sure what you mean by containing layer, could you be editing in isolation mode.Turn that off here:

When I simply click on a line or a simple graphic it will tend to open in the containment layer (see attachment). It may be the mouse (i'm using an old mac mouse), although I reassigned the buttons to other functions, it still does this.

Can you please be a little bit more specific about what exactly you are moving where exactly?
