Contextual task bar won't turn off Adobe Illustrator 28.4

Hi There. Updated Adobe Illustrator to version 28.4 this morning and now I can't seem to get the contextual task bar to switch off. I disable it in the Window drop down menu but it keeps re-activating itself whenever I open a new document.

Hello @Preseli Artwork,

We understand that encountering technical issues can be frustrating. Would you mind trying to update to the latest version of Illustrator 28.4.1 (https://adobe.ly/3THgQoi) and checking if it helps?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav

You're not the first to report this and I can reproduce it even after resetting the preferences.

Here's a bug report: https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-desktop-bugs/suggestions/48189500-contextual-task-bar-cannot-be-turned-off
