Converting MULTIPLE Anchor Point Types at Once

Am I crazy, or is there still no way to convert/change all points in a project to "hard" or "remove all handles" at the same time? As soon as you select two or more points, EVERY tool, command, extension or possible trick is disabled.

Disabled tools menu or right-click commands that are disabled:

  • Pen tool/option click to reveal convert anchor point tool - only changes one point
  • Convert anchor point tool istelf and with shift C
  • Right click / path / ...
  • Object Menu / Path / ...
  • All tool bars
  • "Corners toolbar extension in toolbar". --  0 px doesn't remove handle

The "workaround" that somewhat works is to use the "Simplify" command, which you have to....

1. Slide the bar left or click settings icon

2. then need to click into the 2nd level of that menu to  "convert to straight lines"

3. drag corner point angle threshold:

carefuly slide this slider left and right to get straight lines but not to remove any edges

4. click check box "convert to straight lines".

5. "calculate": Also, if you've selected some points but not all, this command will convert those undesired points you wanted to skip as well.

At that point, you might as well manually convert each point yourself and save time.    I know this is over-explained, but I wanted to share all options I've tried to avoid multiple suggestions/responses asking if I've "tried X, Y, Z."

Thanks

Selecting all points selects the object. You have to select all but one.

Or use Astute Graphics plugins (not for free)

Possible there is a script.
