Copy and PASTE dont work in Illustrator

Copy and PASTE dont work in Illustrator (newest v 29.4) (Win10). It is been so for quite a long time. In other applications it work.
Restart App or computer or reseting Preferenses did not help.

Any suggestions on how to make it work?

Overzealous antivirus (Digital Guardian) as well as viruses that empty the clipboard

They are all known for interfering with the clipboard.

I hope Monika's suggestions helped resolve the problem. If not, try running Illustrator under Safe Mode (Windows) and check if it helps.

Thanks but...

Usually "Paste" is not available for selection in Illustrator (light gray). Sometimes Paste is selectable and it works, usually not. So I would say that problem is not in keyboard or in Windows pasteboard. Problem is only in Illustrator.
