Copy height and width

I need to know if there is a hidden plugin or shortcut to copy the height and width of an object, and paste it into another object.

Using Illustrator CC 2019.

Thanks!

Just as in most any object-based graphics program:

    1. Select something.
    2. Copy the value from the Height or Width field.
    3. Select something else.
    4. Paste into the Height or Width field.

You can't do both height and width at once in the standard interface, but it would be a fairly trivial scripting task, and has no doubt has been done by multiple scripters for various use-specific purposes.

    Has this been addressed yet?

Would certainly be helpful to workflow, and as you said @JETalmage , pretty trivial scripting - any chance it will be in future updates?

I would also highly appreciate such an option.

Especially because Illustrator has an issue with copy paste.

If I copy the hight for example, it is not showing up in my Mac clipboard . I cannot paste into another app. The same happens often with HEX colours. I already deleted preferences - it does not help

    It is frustrating.

Do you have any application or system extension installed that messes around with the clipboard? "Enhancing" the clipboard perhaps?

When copying and pasting from one  thing to another.... make sure both are on the same resolution.  Because you will also run into issues when the resolution of the two images is different.

Appearance characteristics such as fill and stroke color can be copied from one object to another, but not height and width other than following the instructions that JET provided.

If you need an exact duplicate you can select an object and Option/Alt drag it to make a duplicate.

    What means:

…and paste it into another object.

… paste into a text frame - or what do you want exactly?

(I'm sure that can done with a script)
