What will happen if i copy paste an image from the internet on illustrator? Will the images disappear if i open the saved file on another computer?

There are two ways to place an image inside an AI file:

    1.) embedded image

The image file is always included inside the AI file and will be seen on every computer.

    2.) linked image

You have to make sure that the image is either in the same place and the other computer has access to it (e.g. inside your office on a server volume) or if you give your AI file away to someone outside your local network you have to provide the image separately.

I always prefer the 2nd option in case you have to edit the image afterwards e.g. for color optimizing.

Although you didn’t ask and are probably aware, make sure you are not violating Copyright when you get images from the web.

Great answers from Ton and q3player. No more to say on it so, in short: You'll be fine- cut and paste away, you shouldn't have any problems!

If you paste an image copied from a web browser it will be embedded (included) as a 72 ppi image in the Illustrator file.
