Copy & Paste in Place Suddenly Not Working

When trying to copy an element and paste it on to another artboard in the same spot (Ctrl+Shift+V), it isn't recognizing the Paste in Place command. I can Copy and regular Paste just fine.

 

I use this feature a lot as a graphic designer for a screen printing company, so it is affecting my workflow.

 

Anybody else having this issue? It only started happening recently.

Is your paste ending up in the wrong position, or is nothing being pasted?

 

You might need to reset your rules 0,0 axis (double-click click in the box to the top left of where the rulers meet.

 

Did you select the name of the artboard in the artboards palette???  You are most likely pasting without specifying a target page, as common sense would have someone mention that in their post.

Nope, it doesn't paste at all.

 

And I am activating the artboard I wish to paste to by clicking in its negative space. This is how I've always done it, unless something changed in a recent update.

In which respect does it not work?

The object does not paste at all? Or in the wrong location?

 

Are both rulers set up the same? Global vs. Artboard rulers

It doesn't paste at all. At first I thought it was my keyboard, so I tried going through the menu instead. Doesn't work that way either.

 

Only way it works is if I hit Ctrl+C multiple times in a row, THEN Paste in Place. It's very sporatic and doesn't make any sense. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.

Does it work when you select the commands from the menu?

 

The question is whether this is baused by the keyboard, something interfering with keyboard input or the clipboard not working.

 

Do you have anything installed in your system than "enhances" the clipboard?

Or some overzealous antivirus?
