Copy & paste with pattern filled object.

Hi,

I have a problem with coping sketches that filed with the pattern swatch in Illustrator. It would copy, but it would be filled in with a different swatch colorway when I paste. It just happened lately, and I wonder if the problem can be fixed. I will greatly appreciate your help.

I'm having this problem as well.

Specifically, when pasting to a different document it will change the color of my pattern fill to the same color as one of the other patterns in the doc.

This never happened before in older versions, previously Illustrator would just automatically make a new swatch in the new document in the copied colorway. It's making it incredibly difficult for me to work, as now I have to recolor all of my patterns anytime I need to copy and paste.

It is fixed in a beta as mentioned above, but I just saw the 25.4 version update (maybe not available in every region), which fixes it.

So you have a choice, use the beta untill the 25.4 is available in your region or go back for a while to a previous version.

Thank you! It is working in version 25.4. The first day after I started using it, I still experienced the same problem, but it started working on the second day.

Are you pasting into the same document or a different document? If a different document check the Swatches panel to see if you have a swatch in the target file (target = file you are pasting into) that has the same name as a swatch in the source file but a different colour value.
