Corner widgets disappear when working with multiple objects - Illustrator 2023

When selecting multiple shapes, the corner widget only appears on some of the shapes/paths, and not all. There's no "maxium number" of paths the widgets appear on, it's random every time. I also can't add more shapes/paths to the existing selection without all widgets disappearing. Both "show corner widgets" and "show edges" options are turned ON. I was able to select as many shapes as I wanted and scale all corners at simultaneously earlier today. The option has just suddenly disappeared even though I didn't change/update Illustrator in any way. [renamed by mod]

I'm having the same issue, I can see and interact with the corner widgets until i select 10 objects, as soon as I select the 11th object, the draggable widget that changes the corner radius disappears on all of the selected objects.

There is a display limit defined in the Illustrator Preferences file.

You may try to increase it as described here:

Is it a specific file with that behaviour?

Does it work when you copy the content in a new file?

And a maybe silly question, does restart your machine help?

It seems to be happening with all files, new and old. I updated and even deleted and re-downloaded Illustrator but it didn't fix the issue.

Updating and deleting does not always remove (corrupt) preferences.

Did you try to manually remove them?

Is the control panel visible? There is an input for the corner radius - is there a number in it?

The input is at 0. I can  manually type in the radius amount in the control panel, but I can't "drag to scale" with the direct selection tool.

Hello @Rainey Cromwell,

We understand that encountering technical issues can be frustrating. Would you mind resetting Illustrator's preferences as described in this article (https://adobe.ly/4e6qCJf) and checking if it helps?

Disclaimer: Please note that renaming preferences folders will remove all the custom settings, and Illustrator will launch with default settings. You can also save a backup of the folders, the location of which is mentioned above.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav
