Coying one single effect from an objet to another objet?

Hi room!

Is it possible to copy for example a drop shadow effect without copying the whole appearance to another objet? let's say objet one has bevel and drop shadows, I need to copy only the drop shadow to another object without having the bevel copied. Is that possible in Illustrator?

Thanks a lot.

How are you copying effects with the eyedropper, that is not possible. Did you possibly mean to post on the Photoshop forum as Bevel is not available in illustrator just Extrude & Bevel, and people generally do not use so many stacked effects in Illustrator.

You can get to eyedropper option by double clicking the tool, and as you can see what you ask is not possible.

You could make a graphic style in Illustrator with only the drop shadow and apply hat any time you wish.

Thanks, I used Illustrator during in 1991, I still see that even the latest Illustrator is not as good as Aldus Free Hand 2.0 made in 1990. This is a terrible hole in Illustrator design. I wonder if Adobe team are really interested in improving Illustrator. They can just learn from the old Aldus freeHand.

Yes I agree Illustrator has been progressing very poorly since Terri's retirement and other changes at Adobe. They do have a listening problem as to what the industry experts needs, but do not count them out someone may yet realize the downslide of Illustrator and get back to the development team they were in the late 80s and 90s.
