Crash on dragging colour to swatches palette
Illustrator still crashes when I drag a swatch to the Swatched palette. This has been happening since I first set up and used this Mac (Mini M4 Pro), and Adobe CC setup in early Jan.
Illustrator 29.2.1
It's getting tiresome for me.
Just to say at the beginning: this is a new Mac with a completely new installation of CC, Illustrator, Bridge (for syncing colour setup), Photoshop, Indesign.
Mac OS 15.1 was newly installed, but has recently been updated to 15.3. Migration from another/old Mac was not done - all is new and pristine.
I have reset illustrator prefs several times, reinstalled illustrator, reinstalled Bridge. Each one twice (the second time I manually went into the prefs folder and deleted all things Illustrator and/or Bridge).
Do this...
(I have previously used Bridge and chosen Europe pre press in the colour settings. The following is the way I have been starting new jobs for 20+ years.)
1/ New document - intent print
1a/ on checking Edit > Assign profile; CoatedFOGRA39 is in use (default for me) (the issue occurs whether you do this or not)
2/ switch colour palette to show cmyk sliders (the issue occurs whether you do this or not)
3/ in swatches palette: select all unused, delete (the issue occurs whether you do this or not)
4/ make a swatch somehow (either adjust sliders or import a graphic and use colour dropper on it
5/ drag the newly created colour swatch from the Colour palette to the Swatches palette (I have mine docked together)
Illustrator quits on dropping the colour in swatches!
It may not be the first time you drop the colour swatch, or the second, but - for me - it always quits, on 3rd or 4th (often, 1st or 2nd, too).
Recovery data is not saved in ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator 29 Settings/en_GB/DataRecovery
Any suggestions?
