Create Swatch Info is greyed out

Create Swatch Info is greyed out along with Create Gradient? why?

Create Swatch Info does not work with a single selected swatch. Same for a gradient, you need at least 2.

    I cannot "Create Swatch Info," as it is greyed out, along with "Create Gradient," in the swatch panel. Why? I have tried making a new document and just using the default swatches... Nothing. I am on a new M4 mac mini running the latest Illustrator, 2025.
