Question

Creating a color book look from a photo?

I'd like to take a photo and Live Trace it (I don't have much experience with this feature) and remove all of the color and detail so what remains are only simple strokes that show enough detail to depict who the person is. Can anyone share any tips for doing this?

Thanks.

Open the Image trace panel and select the Black and WHite option. Then adjust the values.

    Please read the documentation:

How to edit artwork in Illustrator using Image Trace

Results depend hugely on the quality of your source image. You will need to experiment. Someone else's settings might not be appropriate for your image, so take your time and read through the manual and then experiment.
