Creating multiple shapes

I'm struggling how to create multiple shapes in adobe.

say I created the picture above, I want to create 3 shapes out of it.

like this.

is there a way to do this? Thank you

Make sure to create them as closed paths and then use "Divide" from the pathfinder panel.

Or at the Shape Builder tool. Or Live Paint.
