Creating one pattern from two seperate patterns

Hi, 

I have been provided with two seperate patterns layered on top of eachother and I need to make these two patterns into one pattern swatch, currently it seems this task is impossible. Are there any solutions?

Are they the same size?

At least the same proportions?

    You could drag the patterns from the Swatches panel and position them on top of each other.

    Locate the no stroke/no fill path at the bottom of the top pattern (it is the last item in the layers panel for that group) and delete it. You should have only one no stroke/no fill path left below the two patterns.

    Drag them into the Swatches panel , including the no stroke/no fill rectangle and you should get a new combined pattern.
