creating shadows to undulating text

I am trying to create a shadow effect on the accompanying text and photo.  The text is fine but I can't get the shadow to line up correctly.

What kind of shadow are you going to create and exactly where should it be located?

 

It may help to understand better if you could provide at least a rough sketch that shows what your request is about.
