CS4 illustrator Mac not opening

Illustrator CS4 on Sierra. Stopped working suddenly. Now when I click on the icon in the dock, it fails to open and won't even bounce. I also can't open it from within the Applications folder.

Thoughts?

    It's not compatible.

Downgrade the system if you don't want to upgrade Illustrator.

    Hi Jeremy,

CS4 version of Illustrator is not compatible on Mac OS Sierra. It's a very old product and was never tested on this Mac OS. Please check this link: System requirements | Adobe Illustrator

As Monika suggested, it might work for someone at times but that does not in anyways make it compatible. You can either upgrade the app or downgrade the OS.

    Regards,

    Om

Either downgrade the system or upgrade Illustrator to CC.

Why was it working last week but not now? I really have little desire to cough up more cash to Adobe when CS4 fits all my needs.
