custom keyboard shortcuts causes illustrator to crash randomly

Hi everyone.

 

I'm working on Illustrator and I want to use custom keyboard shortcuts to speedup my workflow.

 

However, I've noticed Illustrator will crash whenever custom keyboard shortcuts are selected. Usually this happens a lot when I'm scrolling the layers panel, or the fonts drop down menu from the Controls toolbar.

 

This does not happen when I change keyboard shortcuts back to illustrator defaults.

 

Any ideas how to fix it?

 

I'm running illustrator 28.2, on MacOS Sonoma (14.1.1).

Did you perhaps import that shortcuts file from a previous version?

    I made a new keyboard shortcut with the same customized shortcuts yesterday and this morning it crashed when i was scrolling layers panel again.

    so no, i thought it was b/c I have the astute graphics plug-ins installed. But no I don't think it's that.

    You are scrolling the Layers panel using shortcuts?

    Just to outrule the plugins, please turn them off and try again.
