Cutting Master 5 Black box with AI 2026

Hi everyone. Having an issue I cannot seem to figure out. I have downloaded and am using the latest Cutting edge 5 version. I am using AI 2026. Whenever I use cutting edge 5 it opens the box to a black box. I have to use CTRL+SHIFT+Windows Key+B to get the box to then appear with the settings. I have to do it every time and I cannot seem to find out why. I have an AMD graphics card (drivers are all up to date directly from AMD). IN AI I switch to use CPU instead of GPU, still having the issue. Any Advice?

The documentation at the Graphtec web site says Cutting Master 5 is compatible with Illustrator 2026. However I would consider trying the plugin with a previous 2025 build of Illustrator to see if the same error occurs. It’s possible to have more than one copy of Illustrator installed on the same computer.

i tried CM 5 with AI 2025 and it did the same thing….When I make changes in the AMD graphics program the box will fix itself, but if I close it and do it again it is a black box. Not sure….I want to try and use CM 4, but it doesn’t show in AI….can i get a version of AI to use CM 4?

Cutting Master 4 would need Illustrator 2024 or earlier. It may be possible to get an installer from one of Adobe's reps; in the CC Desktop app the installers for Illustrator only go back to the 2025 version.

I still have the 2024 version installed alongside the current version to get around a different technical problem.
