Default Image Trace GOne

I use image trace CONSTANTLY and there was a default option that would convert images to smooth black and white vector, I'm trying to convert a black and white logo and I can't get a smooth vector because the default option is gone and all the other options leave it bumpy or with extra shades/colours. How can I fix this.

Hello @shaunm13,

Sorry for the delayed response. We understand that this might not be the experience you were expecting with Image Trace on Illustrator. To help get feedback for our product team, would you mind sharing more details, like the screenshots of the original file and the one after using Image Trace and details about the expected result, so that we can share this info with the team?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav

I would not waste time with adjusting the controls, because the smoothness of paths cannot be achieved with the controls. Download the earlier version and then use it.

There are more users having problems with the auto detected presets in the latest version.

You can try to make your own preset by modifying the Silhouettes preset (threshold, noise, corners) to make it work like the default in previous version, but that does not make it the default.

Or you can go back to a previous version.

In the CC app go to Apps > All Apps

Next to Illustrator you will see 3 dots

Click and select Other Versions

You can Uninstall Illustrator and install the previous version or leave the current Illustrator installed and install an additional previous version.
