Deforming a path with the direct select tool on iPad

In the Windows/Mac version of Illustrator, I can use the direct selection tool to click and drag a path to deform it. But I can't figure out how to do this on iPad. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I'm not sure how. When I select what I think is the selection tool and then try to deform the curve, it just moves it instead. I can add another node and move that, but that's not what I'm hoping to do.
