deleting elements from a vector downloaded from shutterstock

I purchased a vector image from shutterstock and they told me that text is not edibale but it is an element...so I am assuming that this needs to be deleted. For some reason though I cant figure out how to do this through Illustartor. I tried to check for locked layers (but there arent), tried to command & select the text but the whole image is selected.

Anyone could help me?
