Difference between "open" and "place" docx files in Illustrator

Then I want to know how to open all pages of the document, I see only the first page, even if I have created several artboards.

There should be an "autoflow" feature, like in Indesign, how to activate it. All pages shoul open all needed artboards.

Thank you.

Open creates a new Illustrator document and places the first part of the text on the artboard.

For Place you have to create a document with multiple aartboards and place the text yourself.

Illustratot has no such thing comparible with InDesign's auto generation of pages.
