Difference in Scaling Objects/Text Boxes After Update?

I'm still relatively elementary when it comes to Illustrator (pretty familiar in Photoshop), so I'm not sure if this is just my ignorance.

But ever since the last illustrator update I can't scale objects or drag text boxes like I used to. Now I have to scale things manually via Transform -> Scale. When I try to just grab a corner and drag to increase Object/Group sizes as I used to it just moves the item and shows the anchor points.

Anyone have any insight here if it's just an oversight on my end or an actual bug?

Again, been using Illustrator since about 2018 so I'm not too "new", but this is the only issue I've ever had where something seems wrong/different.

I am having the same issue. I use the transform tool all the time to change the size and framing of a layer or an object. Since the update I cannot do that. How do I get this function back?
