Direct selection/selection tool switched?

It seems that in Illustrator CC19, the selection and direct selection tools have been switched for some reason. How can I turns this off? It is driving me nuts. Thanks in advance, Jop

Click on the button with the 3 dots at the bottom of the tools panel. In the dialog box from the menu select "Reset"
