Question

Distorted Smart Objects

Hey everyone,

I've been running into an issue with Illustrator where copied smart objects appear distorted when pasted into Photoshop or even within Illustrator itself. The paths seem to be misaligned.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a known issue, perhaps related to the MacBook Pro M3?

Any insights or solutions would be greatly appreciated!

First one looks like open paths are closed automatically.

This is an interesting hunch, thanks.
I'll check it for open paths when the bug replicates next.

Hello @Soliei,

That sounds wrong. Would you mind sharing more details, like the exact version of the OS and Photoshop/Illustrator installed, whether this happens with all files, and a screen recording of your workflow and the problem (if possible) so I can try and replicate this on my end,

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi! Yes, this looks wrong. It has never happened before, until about 4 months ago. This bug happens occasionally, so once I encounter this again, I will record it.

I am using  MacOS Sonoma 15.0.1; Illustrator 29.0.1; Photoshop 26.1.0.

I see below there is an assumption about non-closed paths, so I'll look closely if this might be an issue now. But from my experience so far, this appeared even with fully joined/flattened/compound path graphics too.

Thanks.
