Downloaded Illustrator files won't open.

Hi there, I have begun a trial for Illustrator in view to purchasing, and have started today. Unfortunately every time I download a project or design, a message comes up saying. 'Localized resources file could not be loaded. Please reinstall this application to solved the problem.' I have reinstalled twice and the same message is coming up. Very new to this so don't know where to go from here really. Thank you, in advance, for any help.
