Dragging a tool keeps making shapes

I have an issue, when I select a tool and drag, it keeps making shapes. I recently upgraded to CC from CS6. Is there a setting to fix this?

Maybe your graphics card is struggling.

Try closing some background programs, do housekeeping on computer, update drivers etc

See if clicking the rocket symbol and turning off GPU performance in preferences helps.

what do you mean with "it keeps making shapes"? The tool draws itself without any of your gestures?
