Drop Shadow not showing on Artboard

I created a drop shadow behind a logo and it shows when the logo is off the artboard but when I move the logo into the position that I want it the drop shadow seems to disappear.  The second photo below is once I move it into position. I tried to see if it showed when saved and it did not.

White is gone when multiplied. Always.

You can't compare it to what you see on the document canvas, because that is not an object. If you want your white to be visible, don't use "Multiply", but "Normal" or "Lighten or one of the other lightening blend modes.

So the white thing on dark background is the shadow? Which blend mode did you use? And which document color mode is this?

Yes, the white thing is the drop shadow. Does this photo help? I go to effect -> stylize -> drop shadow.

How did you create the drop shadow? As an effect or as a separate element?

As an effect
