Dropshadows appear lighter after updating to 28.1

I just updated to 28.1. I re-opened the file I was working in right before, and now all the dropshadows I had in the file are lighter (some almost invisible). Did the settings change or something? The dropshadow values are all the same as they were. This is happening in all files.

I'm also gettingthis issue. If I make a PDF from illustrator the PDF will display dropshadows (and objects with opacity adjustments) as far darker in Acrobat than in illustrator.

There was an existing uservoice report from a Japanese user. I have added an English version:

I've been testing this today and found a definite difference. This is side-by-side on the same monitor:

Colour settings/profiles identical (as it's the same file):

I've asked the question in prerelease, will see if they respond.

I rolled back a version, and it is displaying correctly, so I think it does have something to do with 28.1.

As Ton already guessed: your color management might be set up differently which could explain this.

I'm not sure how it would be different in 28.1 if it's working fine in every other version though. My settings have not changed.

How is your color management setup?

I'm not sure if I'm understanding your question correctly. Could you clarify?

EDIT: I understand now, this is referring to "Color Settings".
