Edit thickness of art brought in from Fresco?

I'm bringing in art from Fresco created with a vector brush. It seems that the lines in the art are not strokes, but rather filled objects. Once in Illustrator, is there a way to quickly edit the width or thickness of the lines/objects. The width tool is not working for me since the lines are not technically "strokes?" TIA

Or similar to what Jacob suggested, Effect > Path > Offset Path, which is an Effect and can be modified in the Appearance panel.

Kurtis,

I doubt whether this would meet your expectations, but depending on the smoothness of the brush you could try Object>Path>Offset Path with positive (thicker) or negative (thinner) values.

That will also change the ends and thereby the length of the path which may be undesirable.

That worked! Thanks Jacob

For my part you are welcome,

The effect way suggested by Ton is much more flexible; if you need simple paths (for any of a number of reasons), you can always Object>Expand Appearance (after saving a backup of the effect version).
