.eps transparency with outer glow effect not applicable?

I am building a logo with an outer glow effect on. When I save this as an .eps it flattens the image within my artboard. I have finagled the settings for transparency yet there is still a warning that says artwork will flatten. Any tips

Yep, don't use .eps. Use a format that is more modern and supports more features like pdf or ai.
