Error beep when trying to move object in Illustrator 26.4.1

I keep getting error beeps and a green symbol when trying to move an object in illustrator 26.4.1. I'm working on OS Monterey 12.0.1 using a Magic Mouse. I know this was an issue in the past but surely by now there's a fix? It's making working in Illustrator almost impossible. Any advice?

Hello @AvrilBovril,

 

We are sorry for the trouble. This is a known issue with Magic Mouse on Mac devices while working on Illustrator version 26.4.1.

 

The product team is aware of this & they have identified the issue and currently working on a fix. I would request you to upvote this UserVoice for updates.

 

In the meantime, I would request you to please be patient & stay tuned for the update, and as a workaround, you may install the older version of Illustrator, version 26.3.1.
