I previously saved this as a svg. in illustrator. When I opened it I recieved this error code.

I think I exprorted it as a svg. vs save as svg.?  Is that the issue? Is the document corrupt?

It's not corrupt, just probably not functional in the way you used it before.

 

SVG is a one way street in Illustrator. Don't use it as your workfile. Workfile format should be AI, not SVG
