Question

Error dialog is unresposive

I'm trying to load an SVG file in Illustrator, but I get an error dialog that "The followimg items could not be imported properly" and in the box below "Clipping will be lost on roundtrip to Tiny".

Okay, fine, I can deal with whatever that means. Font issues, no big deal.

The problem is that the AI interface now refuses to respond. I click on the "OK" button in the dialog, and nothing happens. I cmnd-Q to quit the app, and nothing happens.

So now it's a Force Quit and don't try to open that file (or any other SVG?) again?

Advice appreciated.

Hah! Meanwhile, Photoshop is happy to open the SVG file with zero complaints.

Hello @Robert39042410zpeo,

We understand that encountering technical issues can be frustrating. Would you mind sharing some more details, like the exact version of the OS/Illustrator and a public link to a sample file after uploading it to Dropbox/Google Drive/etc., so we can check it on our end?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav

I am using an up-to-date Creative Cloud on a Mac Studio running an up-to-date macOS Sonoma. The troublesome SVGs were created using the Java echoSVG library.

An example is temporarily at https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/ts8u71z7kmtx3wvhv4zm5/echo.svg?rlkey=zsindetxfz1wefrq91g99tlah
