Hi All - Feeling desperate - I can no longer import/place png files into my designs in illustrator. This must have changed during an upgrade or something - but I am getting an error when i launch Illustrator that says "error loading plugins DxfDwgFileFormat.aip" I have searched the community here and all the answers tell me to go to this article:  (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/plugin-missing-issue.html) -

But that is not helping me A because I'm on MAC and b because i cannot find those files and - have no idea how to reset the plugins - or whatever its saying.
I'm using Illustrator 25.4.8 - and OS is Majave 10.14.6 - if that helps?

Hi @Cheryl - Macaroon,

We are sorry for the trouble. Multiple users have reported this issue in v25.4.6.or newer running on macOS Mojave. I would like to inform you that we updated RealDWG from the 2022 version to RealDWG 2023 to fix an issue. RealDWG 2023 is only supported for macOS 10.15 or later, so now you have the following options to resolve the issue:

1. Upgrade to macOS 10.15 or newer.

2. Upgrade Illustrator to recent version 26.5

3. Install an older version, i.e., v25.4.5.

Kindly update the discussion if you still need assistance with it. We'd be happy to help.

Thanks & Regards,

Anshul Saini

The png problem can be solved by downgrading to 25.4.7

Hi,

The error message indicates an error with a plugin, but not the png import one.... to better help you, can you indicate:

  1. did you update/upgrade anything since the past time it worked?
  2. did you reset your preferences How to set preferences in Illustrator (adobe.com)
  3. did you try to uninstall-reboot-use the cc cleaner-reinstall illustrator? Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool to solve installation problems (adobe.com)
