Error message - "Can't print the illustration"

To begin, I've printed hundreds of illustrator files but now all of a sudden I get this message and can't print ANY documents! I suspect that I've inadvertently hit a function key. Any suggestion?

    WHich version?

    Which system?

    Which printer? Is it set up? Is it turned on? Printer queue?

    Are all fonts checked?

    Any third party plugins?

    Font management?

    What exactly is in the file?
