For a straight line: Object > Path > Add anchor points.

If it's not a straight line or you want anything special, please describe.

Please could you also post a screenshot of your line and then tell us more specifically what kind of outcome you want?

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

@Chris38233707hzle

Illustrator has that feature already. Photoshop does not, but you can make a feature request that will be considered by the product developers.

  • Illustrator
    Options > Path > Add Anchor Points
    Distribute (selected) Anchor Points

When you let us know which application you are using, we will be happy to move your post from Creative Cloud Desktop to the correct forum for you.
