Exchange EPS to elder version

Why do you want to do that?

If you want to edit the EPS in an older version, then you can always create a new Illustrator file and then place the EPS in it.

You won't be able to edit everything (maybe you won't be able to edit anythiong at all) and maybe the file is completely unusable. 

But if your desire is to downsave the AI file that can be embedded in the EPS, then no, this is not possible without having the appropriate Illustrator version.

Illustrator is the right tool. What is the problem with opening it? Is it that you don't have a subscription for it?
