Export or import Illustrator CC 2018 workspace between computers

This seems to be an oft-asked, but unresolved question.

In Windows 10 on a personal desktop computer where are custom workspaces stored? I've seen numerous answers that place custom workspaces in /.../AppData/Roaming/Adobe ... and various subfolders. I've also seen responses that the custom workspaces are stored in /ProgramData/Adobe/Illustrator. I've even seen a post saying the workspaces are in /.../AppData/Local/...

I don't understand why Adobe ended the synchronized workspace feature...it was easy-to-use, very convenient, and well designed. Those are probably the reasons why it was dropped.

So what's the convoluted, inconvenient and hard-to-figure-out work-around?

I use Creative Cloud apps on multiple computers, and would like to have my workspace easily transported between them.

I've used the "Workspace" export feature, and then tried to import the workspace, but I get an error message telling me the selected file is not a workspace.

Help, please.

On mac  the location is:

HD\Users\(user name)\Library\Preferences\Adobe Illustrator (version number) Settings\en_US\Workspaces

Windows location  is similar.

But just do a search on your drive for your workspace name. If you get too many results, jus give you workspace a unique name and search.

Yes I agree is a shame they got rid of workspace synchronization.

Working on a Mac 10.13.6 (High Sierra) there is no Adobe Illustrator or any Adobe folder in my Library/Preferences folder.

You need to open the user library, which is hidden by default on the Mac. There are countless tutorials on how to access it.

Thanks for your answer.

I don't use a Mac. I use a Windows 10 PC. The folder structure is not the same as Mac.

Never said folder structure is same but was hopefully clear enough that the location is similar. That is why I gave you another way to find this by searching, did you try that?
