Export to screen as PDF does not produce consistent PDF format data.

I'm having an issue when using the "Export for screens" function to export multiple artboards to separate PDF files. We use this function so that the PDFs generated carry the artboard name, so it is not practical for us to export a multipage PDF.

 

The first artboard will export correctly as a PDF that can then be used in our automation software however all other PDFs generated are not identified as PDFs and are instead appearing as Illustartor files.

 

When checking the meta data, the first artboard exports correctly with format>application/pdf but all other artboard export with format>application/vnd.adobe.illustrator. This wasn't an issue in Illustrator 2022 but has been apparent in 2023 and now 2024.

 

Any help would be appreciated.
