I move a lot of artwork between Adobe Illustrator and CorelDRAW regularly. The last few versions of CorelDRAW seem to like Adobe Illustrator CS6 version AI files more than other newer versions. However, some features and effects in Adobe Illustrator will not export to CorelDRAW accurately. Freeform gradients and line strokes with gradients are not supported. Objects with certain kinds of transparency effects may not import into CorelDRAW accurately. Line strokes with Art Brushes or Pattern Brushes may have to be expanded before exporting. You may even have to convert some text objects to outlines before exporting.

The best arrangement for trading files between Illustrator and CorelDRAW is by doing so on a computer that has both applications installed. You'll be able to immediately see what elements are working and others that are breaking and then adjust the artwork accordingly. It is likely you will have to re-build some fills and effects within CorelDRAW after importing the artwork. The same kinds of problems exist going the other direction, exporting AI files from CorelDRAW to open in Illustrator.

Unfortunately you do not state which versions of Illustrator and Corel Draw you are using.

However, Corel Draw used to have a pretty good .ai import filter. You may have to save your .ai files to some older file format and then see if Corel Draw can handle it.

Be prepared that not all kind of native Illustrator objects will be interpreted as you may wish. It depends on what exactly your Illustrator documents contain.
