Exporting as a .tif adds a dark overlay?

Hi!

 

Everytime I try to export an artboard as a .tif it creates a dark overlay. Attached are screenshots of how it exports (top) vs. how it should look (bottom) and some of the file's color settings. Color mode is CMYK

 

I'm working on a 2019 imac running Mojave and Illustrator version 24.0.1

Is the white stroke set to multiply or overprint?

As for the general color issue: open this in Photoshop and then measure the grey. Apple Preview is in no way suitable to check anything.
