exporting EPS to DXF

I exported an EPS to DXF.  I tried to open the DXF in Illustrator and nothing is there.  

 

Any suggestions?

    • The original Adobe Illustrator (AI) file.
    • The EPS file that you're trying to export to DXF.
    • The DXF file that you've exported.

    You created the DXF in which app?

    Was there even vector artwork in that EPS?

    I saved a vector in Adobe Illustrator as.ai, then saved as a eps file, from the eps I exported as a dxf.  I tried to open the dxf file in illustrator and nothing was there.
