Question

Exporting illustrator file for instagram profile picture

So I have followed every guide that I can find online and got nowhere, I have made a logo design that I want to use for my profile picture on instagram but every time I try to upload it the pitucre doesn't change (it stays as the default picture). I don't know why it is doing it each time but I have made several copies of the logo all in a 1:1 aspect ratio. I even changed the format that I exported them out into, so that I had a png file and a jpg but none of this work. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. From what I understand I have got the correct file size and file format so any advice would help.

Well. I would just put all the Illustrator layers into one folder.
Create a Photoshop image that is 1:1 ratio... transparent background.
Then I go back to Illustrator, highlight the folder and CTRL+C.
Then back to Photoshop and PASTE SPECIAL>PASTE IN PLACE.
Then resize to whatever I like or makes me happy.
Flatten the image and save it as JPEG.
Then upload it to Illustrator.

What does this have to do with Illustrator? If Instagram rejects your image you have to ask them. Perhaps their algorithm takes your content as offensive, perhaps it's something else. Certainly how you export it from AI has (almost) nothing to do with it. Anyway, without any screenshots, exact info about the export and document settings and all that good stuff we can't even begin to guess what the problem might be. You have to be much more specific.

I just wanted to know how to export it correctly so that my image can be used on instagram that is all I am asking. Instagram has not rejected my file it's just not formatted correctly and I wanted to know how to do it

Well that's a conclusion you've drawn that may or may not be true. There really isn't much you can do with the Illustrator export to png or jpg that would result in your image being "not formatted correctly". There are no Instagram-specific Illustrator export settings that anyone can call to your attention. Something else is going wrong with your upload.
