Exporting Large PNG File

I need to export an art board that is 8x10ft (large cartography project) as a PNG that's at a resolution suitable enough for printing. I can't export anything past 72 ppi, but would prefer it to be at 300 if possible. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

Also check if it's strictly necessary for it to be a PNG -- and if so, why.

That would indeed become a large file (around 2,7 Gig), that would probably be more than Illustrators limits.

Can you open it in Photoshop? Or export it in parts by creating multiple smaller artboards.
