Exporting PNG/JPG at 300 dpi changes dimensions

I have a vector file created as 2550 x 300 and want to export to that exact size. When I export at 300 dpi the dimensions change to 10625 x 1250. How can I keep my desired dimesions but still have a high-res jpg?

If you want to keep that 2550 x 300 size in pixels, export at 72 ppi.
