When I apply the 3D and materials with the extrude and bevel to my logo the edges are pixelated. How do I smooth out the edges?

Correct answer Brad @ Roaring Mouse

These effects are raster effects, so if you're expecting them to stay a crisp vector line, that's not what happens; they WILL be pixelated at the edges. How visible this is is dependednt on the Raster Effects settings. For instance, if you change it to 600 ppi you will see a marked difference.

The effect creates an image, but if you select Render as Vector, a clipping mask will be applied.

Yes, that helped. What is the highest number for the ppi and px around object that I would be able to go to?

What is the resolution in Effect > Document Raster Effect Settings? And how is your rendering set up?

Hello, my Document Raster Effects settings are 300 ppi with Options Add of 200 px Around Object. I applied the 3D Materials Effect to my typography with Extrude & Bevel and instantly it is blurred. I played around with the setting in Extrude & Bevel and the typography stays pixelated at the edges. I have attached the file.

If you rename the extension of your Illustrator file from .ai to .pdf you can attach it to a post here.
