Eyedropper missing from the Recolor Artwork panel in Illustrator

Hi there,

I used to use the eyedropper within the recolour artwork tool to select colours from anywhere on my artboard. Specifically as a textile designer I would need to match new artwork colours to old artwork colours so using the eye dropper tool for this in the recolour tool was the fastest way to change specific colours within my artwork.
Adobe have since removed it in version 30.0 and its gone from older versions as well (29.8.2). Please adobe can you bring back the eyedropper within recolour artwork, or suggest a fast way around this.

Hello everyone,

With the current implementation, Eyedropper support in the Color Picker is disabled when another modal dialog is open in the background.

We appreciate your feedback and highlighting the expected workflow. Integrating the Eyedropper directly into the Recolor panel is an alternative, but it would require a broader revamp of the Recolor experience and additional design work. We have shared this feedback with the product team for future improvements.

I would also suggest creating a UserVoice for this request (https://illustrator.uservoice.com/) and adding your comments there. Doing this will help us prioritize this request, and you will be notified of any updates.
