Eyedropper tool -- shows cursor arrow, not eyedropper icon

Hi all, 

I'm using Illustrator 2023 on a MBP with Ventura 13.4. I typically use the eyedropper tool to select color or or font styles from one object to another. Recently (the past few weeks), when I click on the eyedropper tool, I get the solid arrow cursor, not the dropper icon. I can still select and apply the style, but it's just confusing. 

 

Any thoughts? Am I missing a preference setting?

Thank you. After restarting, it's back to normal. I should have thought of that first! haha.
